WP 3 was the Evaluation work package and was led by the University of Manchester.
The evaluation work package focused on a crucial aspect for the successful implementation and completion of the project. This was the appropriateness and effectiveness of the processes in achieving the project objectives, as reflected in the project outcomes. The evaluation data was collected and analysed throughout the life of the research project and was benchmarked against the project work plan.
The evaluation process provided added value to the project and formed an integral part of the project management. The evaluation model that was used considered planning, implementation and control as three interconnected activities. Criteria on parameters such as data accuracy and reliability, users’ requirements and organisational efficiency, costs were also developed to benchmark project outcomes.
